The JMF, as a domestic deliberative body concerned with the safety of machinery, participates in the international conferences of ISO and IEC, obtains the latest information, and conveys developments to Japanese industry. Moreover, the JMF takes the lead in standardization activities designed to have our country’s position reflected in the international standards. At the same time, the JMF prepares proposals that would conform JIS to international standards and undertakes technology development activities with an eye to developing new proposals for international standards.
In addition, as part of the JMF’s effort to promote machinery safety, the JMF helps develop safety solutions for factory floors with complex machinery installations and designs education programs on machine safety for small and medium-sized manufacturing companies. The JMF also conducts research studies designed to raise companies’ capabilities for constructing safe production systems and sponsors machinery safety seminars for the executives, chief designers, and factory-floor technicians of machinery manufacturing companies.
